Hello and welcome to the end of another week on planet earth. Nothing particularly noteworthy happened in the first half of this week, which was characterised by studying, writing things, and smoothing out a few rough edges on this website caused by the backend change. Sorry for any duplicated posts showing up wherever you get your rss.
This week we watched three films: return to oz, the hobbit: book edit, and robotrix. None of them were spectacular, but i enjoyed watching all of them. The best of the bunch was probably robotrix, shockingly enough. The music and camera work were really good, and it had personality! This week also marked the start of my soft commitment to writing about every film that i watch, so let’s see how long that lasts for.
The album for this week was the dwarf fortress soundtrack by Dabu, Simon Swerwer & Águeda Macias. It’s got a mix of styles, mostly atmospheric, perfect to have on in the background while digging holes. I haven’t played dwarf fortress since the steam release, but i’m glad that we can all benefit from this excellent soundtrack.
On thursday, we took a trip to Huzhou and Nanxun. Nanxun is an old water town, and Huzhou is the city that has swallowed it up. Both were nice places, although i enjoyed Nanxun more as we arrived on thursday evening, and the waterways were all but deserted. That’s not to say that Huzhou city centre wasn’t also lovely; the people were friendly, and there were many little side alleys full of interesting things to see.
Which brings us to now, the last night of november, and the start of the end of the year. People have already started preparing for christmas here, and i’m sure that back home that’s even more apparent. It’s still not properly cold yet, but early mornings are a reminder of what is to come.
Until next time, stay wonderful
