Hello wonderful people inside of the internet, and welcome to the end of another week on planet earth! We have already drifted about three percent of the way through this year. Am i making the most of it?
I started the week with a visit to an exhibition on qipaos at Shanghai museum. The information density was low, but luckily there were a lot of qipaos to look at, and they’d all been labelled with their year and materials, so armed with a quick overview of the evolution of the style and my ace detective skills, i was able to piece together a story in my head. Best part was that it was totally free!
This week was also exam week, so that took up the majority of my time. The actual results of these exams are not so important; the main thing is to do them, and use them as motivation to continue study on my own. To that end, i think they went pretty well.
We also tried out a new bar, which in my opinion was not as good as my favourite old bar. Unfortunately that bar is closed as it moves premises so we had no choice but to head to another, and it was very decent. Two screens is a little too much for me though. Whatever happened to candlelight?
We watched two films: nativity and robot dreams. I think nativity is great, but unfortunately robot dreams wasn’t as great as i was hoping. We have some good films on the list so hopefully in the coming weeks my film experience will be more positive!
Another thing i did this week was to ride (almost) every line in the Shanghai metro in a single trip. After three hours, we decided to take a rest. I will be writing about this at some point in the future though, so if this sounds like the most exciting thing ever (i think so) do stay tuned.
And that brings us to now. I will shortly head out to meet some friends for dinner. Now that classes and exams are over, i don’t know what the weeks ahead will hold. Here’s to the remaining ninety-seven percent of this year.
Until next time, stay wonderful.
