Taste of Cherry (1997)

This film was visually beautiful, and i really enjoyed the camera work. The plot was thought provoking and the acting was excellent. Many of the characters had depth, different motivations, and totally different outlooks on life, and because there were so many scenes of long conversations, those hopes and dreams were really fleshed out.

The only downside was that i didn’t like the main character himself, who seemed quite self-absorbed and inconsiderate of the fact that his ask did not vibe with the other characters. He was rude and abrupt to everyone who tried to show him hospitality or care. But i can’t fault the actor, because that was the character written into the script, and he did an excellent job at it.

If you like slow and introspective films with good art direction and acting, this one is definitely worth a watch.
